31 Days of Peace

Friday, April 13, 2012

Can you believe we are almost halfway through 2012 already? It feels like we just completed our Anew You study for the beginning of the year! Today, we are so excited to announce that we’ve been talking about, praying about, and ready to start another 31-Day journey.

Over the past few months we have been in transition, we have had to make some tough decisions, and one thing we’ve prayed for and desired most was peace. Do you ever get like that? Overwhelmed, undecided, restless, and anxious? Well, God has a word for you.

Peace can best be defined as safe, quietness, rest, or set at one again. Beginning May 1, 2012 through May 31, 2012, we will dive into 31 Days of Peace to see what God’s Word says about this peace that we all seek. Each day for the month of May we will read a scripture (or passage of scripture) on peace. This is meant to get our minds focused on the peace that God has promised us.

Every time you turn on the news, read the newspaper, surf the Internet, or see a billboard while you are driving you are reminded of all the chaos that is going on this world. Satan wants to keep your mind troubled, whereas God desires to bring you peace.

Whether you are seeking peace during this political season, on your job, in your marriage, with your kids, or within yourself, God can and will bring peace to your life if you seek it. 2 Timothy 2:15 tells us to study to show ourselves approved, and that’s exactly what we are going to do in May. We are going to seek peace, pursue peace, and draw closer to God because of the peace He gives even through the roughest of times!

If you know someone that can benefit from this spiritual exercise, swap this message with him or her. We can all stand to grow from God’s Word, and He may be using you to help someone else be encouraged. Stay tuned for the printable calendar release. We look forward to discussing the scriptures with you on our blog and Facebook page.
