REIGNITING OUR PURPOSE

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;” (1 Peter 2:9)

People keep asking us, what is this Sisters With A Purpose and what does it mean? We want to remind those of you who are new here, and those that have been here for a while, that it’s not about us. This is not just Shanita and Melanie’s ministry; this is your ministry too! This is God’s ministry through each of us! You too are a Sister With A Purpose. This is a message to reignite, remind, and refocus our minds on why we are, Sisters With A Purpose.

Your being here is not by happenstance. Your being here is on purpose. You are a Sister With A Purpose. But, what does that even mean:

1. God CHOSE you! 1 Peter 2:9, says you are a chosen generation; this means you (yes, you) were specifically and personally handpicked by the Lord. Don’t get so caught up in someone else’s gift that you’re failing to use your own. Don’t get so lost in someone else’s story that you’re forgetting to create and live yours. God chose you to do something that only YOU can do.

2. Go CHECK yourself! Are you a Sister With A Purpose, or are you just someone sharing pictures and messages? Do you live the words that you share, the statuses you repost, or the scriptures you read and say Amen to? We encourage you to do what God has called YOU to do. We all have something unique to bring to the table. Check to see if you are using your gift to bring others to Christ.

To be a Sister With A Purpose is not just something we say, it’s a lifestyle that we live. It’s a God-title. We’re not getting caught up in the titles that the world loves to give; you’re just a Sister With A Purpose and guess where that purpose came from? God! So when you embrace that the purpose came from God, you embrace who you are in God.

It’s not about the title; it’s about living the purpose. So many of us want a fancy title at work or for the church…we won’t do the work unless we have the “position,” or we won’t do the work until we have the “title.” No! You are already titled; you are GOD’S CHILD! You are God’s chosen one! You are it! No more waiting for the title to do what you’ve already been called to do. You are A Sister With A Purpose! Embrace the purpose that God has placed within you.

Today, PUSH past anything inside of you that’s saying no to what God has said yes to! God CHOSE you, remember? Don’t run from His purpose, embrace it! Stop living behind other’s glory, and hiding behind another’s story. It’s time to come out and live with PURPOSE! It’s time to stop hiding behind the fact that “someone else will do it,” or the “I’m not good enough” mentality. It’s time to stop hiding behind any excuse that will keep you from living the purpose that God created you to live (Matthew 28:19-20).

For us, it’s not about the numbers. It’s not about whether the Facebook page is growing or if we’re getting more people on the blog. It’s more than just coming to the page or the blog waiting for the next hype healing message; it’s about living what you read and sharing it with the world. Remember you’re not just a Sister With A Purpose because you “Like” a Facebook page. You’re not just a Sister With A Purpose because you sign up for our blog; You Are A Sister With A Purpose because GOD CHOSE YOU!

So do your part: Share your purpose and let’s all continue to Grow together!

If you haven’t already (or even if you have), please refresh yourself on this Four-Part Devotional entitled, “It’s Not Personal, It’s Purposed.” Go through all four lessons to help you identify the purpose that God has called you to.

We thank and pray for each of you! We thank God for bringing you to this ministry. Each of us helps contribute to making this ministry what God desires it to be. You are NOT going unnoticed. We thank each of you for being a Sister With A Purpose!
