Testimony Tuesday

As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.” (Mark 5:18-20)

GO TELL SOMEBODY

In the scripture above, a demon-possessed man filled a town with fear and anguish. The evil spirits living within him came to Jesus, and the man asked, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!”

Is there something inside of you aching to get out and be healed?

Those evil spirits begged Jesus not to kill them. Jesus obliged and freed the man of the demons by allowing them to enter into a herd of pigs, which eventually fell off of a cliff and were drowned. The people of the town then saw the once, demon-possessed man clothed and in his right mind. When the man begged to go with Jesus, he instead charged him to go tell all the people of his city what was just done in his life by the hands of God.

And he did just that.

What has He done for you lately? Have you told anyone yet? Many times God blesses our lives, removes evil spirits of contention, fear, guilt, or jealousy, reveals something to us through His Word, saves our souls, but we keep his goodness to ourselves. We talk about everything and everybody else, but the Lord.

Why is that?
When did it become a fearful thing to share the good news of Christ?
Will you ever share what attracts you to Jesus to others?

Testimony Tuesdays is about swapping the good that God has done in your life with others. You may think, ‘I don’t have a story, or I don’t know what to say.’ Everyone who believes in God has a story or
a triumph to share…

He’s awakened you, He’s kept you in a right frame of mind, He’s saved you from sin, He’s saved you from an accident, He’s given you peace and understanding of a why a traumatic incident occurred, He’s delivered you from a temptation, He’s healed you (of a major illness or even a cold), He’s given you a word to inspire and encourage another, and He’s answered your prayers!

The list could go on and on. Your testimony could be two sentences; it could be two paragraphs; whichever it is, it’s just time to testify about the mercy God has shown!

Jesus healed a man filled with many demons and told him to go tell his city what happened. He didn't hesitate to go tell somebody what Jesus had done for him.

So again, what has He done for you lately? Who have you told?

Don’t hold it in any longer, but speak boldly about a blessing you've received or encountered at the hands of our God. Share with us here, in an open and welcoming environment. No person's testimony is greater than the next person's; only GOD is the greatest among us. So, GO TELL somebody!

Let’s swap!

"Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
(Revelation 12:10-11, NKJV)

  1. Amen sisters! Here is my testimony. God allowed my preacher to speak to me about how to elevate my expectations in life. My expectations about things are low, therefore, my blessings are low. God knew what I need it that very moment. I praise God for that word because now I know what I need to do in order to succeed spiritually, as a parent, emotional, financially, and educationally. I bless you both in Jesus name.

  2. Good morning,

God had blessed me in so many ways. In 2008 I was involved in a auto accident. I ended up a paraplegic ( paralysed from the waist down). The accident occured on my son's 16th birthday. we were five people in the vehicle. I was the only one injured. Everyone else was fine.

Three weeks after my accident while I was still in recovery my husband filed for a divorce.
I had hit rock bottom. My marriage was over, I no longer had a job, I no longer had the use of my legs.
I went through all the different stages. First there was denial, then came the anger and frustration. Depression soon followed.

My social worker at the spinal rehab suggested that I go for group counselling. I wasn't very keen on going but went any way.

That was were my turning point came. LIstening to the stories of the other people around me, made me realize just how much I had to be grateful for. I had also sustained neck fractures. The doctors said that I am very fortunate that I wasn't paralysed from the neck down.

I had reached the bottom of the "pit". There was no other way for me to look but up. That's when I realized that I needed God back in my life. I made a decision that day. I rededicated my life to God. He gave me peace in my heart. I had a 360 degree change.

I became much more positive. So much so that I started going to the other patients at the centre and just talking to them. Encouraging them and showing my support. God brought me to a place where I finally had made peace with my situation. Today as I look back I now know why I had to go through all of these things. I also know that without God I would not have survived. He has taught me so many things on this journey of my life. I have matured and grown so much since then and thank God daily that He gave me a second chance.

    God bless you
