YOU ARE GIFTED

"Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit." (1 Corinthians 12:4)

How will I apply this passage to my everyday life?

  1. (Shanita) I don't want to be ashamed of the gifts God has given me; therefore today I will apply this verse by using my gifts!

  2. (Melanie) Although miraculous gifts passed on by the apostles have ceased, God has still placed within me a gift and filled me with abilities that will ultimately bring Him glory. I can start by not being ashamed of my gifts or downplaying them in the presence of others and just let the Spirit of God (that is within me) move me and use me!

  3. Even though there are many gifts they are all used for the upbuiding of the kingdom of God. I may not have the same gift someone else has but my gift is just as important because GOD in HIS grace has given it to me by HIS SPIRIT. HE equips as HE see fit and according to the purpose and plan HEhas for our life. One thing I have learned id that no gift is important if it isnt used in a spirit of humbleness. We cant wear our gift as a badge too be puffed up but with a meek spirit just as HE had. Gifts are for HIS GLORY!!!! We decrease in self, as John said, so that He may increase in us. Be blessed.

    1. Amen Mel!!! That is such a lovely way to speak on this verse. He has definitely given us different gifts to be used to glorify Him, and we should not get caught up in whose gift is better. Thank you for reminding us to be humble!

  5. I agree with every thing that was shared this morning. All of our gifts comes from God and He places in us the one that we are qualified for. All gifts are for the edifying of the church and no gift is more important than the other because the church needs them all. It would be like trying to decide which part of your human body do you need more. All of them serves a purpose as with the church. We need to use our gift boldly and not hide what God put in us.

  6. I totally agree with Mel. Ephesians 2:10 says "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (NIV). God equiped each believer with gifts to be used for His glory, and the key word here is USE. Some of us still make excuses for not doing what we have been called to do. I remember reading in one of the devotions that we need to "EX the excuses" because making excuses "are good for no one and profit nothing." We, as believers, have a responsibility to use the gifts that God has given us. Just like He gave them to us, He can take them away. We must use them or lose them.
