YOU ARE NOT FORSAKEN

"For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people." (1 Samuel 12:22)

How will I apply this passage to my everyday life?

  1. For me this scripture is reminding me that I am of God's people, His child, He will not forsake me, but I must remember God's will be done, not mine. I ask the Lord my God all day long to use me as he wills.

  2. Amen Susan, it's His Will that we seek! Sometimes we forget that God has chosen us, and we can easily lose focus when we think this way; but we are reminded with this passage of just how much He cares for us and loves us! Something to smile about :-)

Know that god will not and has not rejected me. That he loves me. I am pleased that the lord has chosen me to be his own. We are special to our lord...

  4. When we remain in step with the Spirit of the Christ under the Law of Love we are HIS!

    Gal 5
13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.

Keep in Step with the Spirit

16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

  5. This passage brought tears to my eyes. While going through my trials and tribulation God has never left me. God was there right beside me when no one else was there for me. This passage reminds of FOOTPRINTS where in the beginning there two sets of footprints. At the end of the poem there are one set of footprints, that is because he carried through my storms. This is my testimony, no matter how big the situation may be, just remember God is bigger than your situation. He promises never to leave us nor forsake us....Ain't God Good...

  6. (Melanie) I should stop feeling like I'm in this alone. Don't be ashamed to ask God for guidance or help. Since God cannot lie, He will keep His word and never turn His back on me. I should be thanking God everyday for considering and making me.
