Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.” (Luke 24:45)

REVIVE WORD

Through this From Hurt to Healing journey, we’ve revealed our wounds because we understand now that God can’t heal what we don’t reveal. We’ve released the wrongs we’ve done and the people that have done us wrong because we now understand that God can’t forget what he hasn’t forgiven. We’re walking in our renewed worth because we now have a better understanding of how we are to see ourselves as worthy women created by a more than worthy God!

So, how does being revived by the Word play into all of this? God knew that satan would come after our minds, therefore we find Jesus often instructing and teaching His people through the scriptures so that satan can be defeated. He builds up their minds with His word and the same applies for how God’s word works for us today.

The only way to know what God is thinking is to go where He is speaking: The BIBLE!

Satan hasn’t stopped trying to access our thoughts, so we must know and apply the WORD of God if we want to have any fighting chance against him.

In order to be revived, something inside of us must die. The old woman with her worries, issues, doubts, and low self-esteem must die in us. Peace, reconciliation, and trust need to be revived in us. If we want to be spiritually revived the first place to go for help is Doctor Jesus!

John 1:1 says that Jesus is the word; sometimes the word of God (Jesus) needs to be reawakened and revived in us! What we first want to define is the word revived.

In Psalm 119:25 David says, “I lie in the dust, revive me by your Word.” The word revive (chayah), means to keep alive, to recover, or restore. David’s cry out to be revived by the Word, is a strong indication that knowing about Jesus is powerful; however knowing Jesus (The Word) is survival!

What word needs to be revived in you today?

That God will never leave nor forsake you? (Joshua 1:5)
That God knows you by name? (Isaiah 43:1)
That God has a plan for your future? (Jeremiah 29:11)
That God erases the negatives of your past? (Micah 7:18-19)

Revive your life.

A spiritual life in cardiac arrest is a critical situation that needs to be addressed. It’s dangerous to keep hiding wounds inside of you. It’s unsafe to continue holding on to wrongs that you can’t change.

Have you tried everything and everyone but God’s word to be revived? There’s the temporary revival in alcohol, food, sex, obsessive exercise, putting on a defeatist attitude, leaving the church, or even using other people until they fail you. It may be time to turn to God, however, don’t use God; let His word use you!

The Word of God is important to your survival in this life. His word gives your spirit immediate attention. It replenishes you when it seems your past hurts have sucked you dry.

God’s word never fails because God can’t fail! God hasn’t failed! God won’t fail!

David said, "Yea though I walk through the valleys of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for though art with me!" The Lord is with you, His word in you, but you often leave and retreat to your hurts because you’re not ready to face the potential of your healed self. You put yourself in danger when you leave the only person that can help you!

The only person that can help you be revived is God, and He does it through His Word!!

Have you avoided God’s revival because you’re not ready for change! Are you afraid of the potential within you? Are you uncertain that there will really be a blessing awaiting you on the other side of your hurt?

Do you want to stay in a hurt state? No one wants pain in his or her life. Be bold and reveal those hidden wounds that are inside of you.

You will experience hurt in this life and what satan wants you to do is stay so deep in your pain that you forget God’s reviving word. Speak His word when the storms are blowing and when the good times are showing.

Start walking in your healed state today! Defeat the enemy like Jesus did: through the scriptures (Matthew 4:1-11)!

The scriptures are God’s directions for us, His love toward us, His way of communicating with us…so many times we pray but we don’t listen! God’s Word always answers! We must rely on His word because God’s Word won’t change (Hebrews 13:8)!

The Lord breathes life through His word! He brought life into the world by his WORD! God said LET and there it was.

What is God trying to LET in your life today?

Some of us are in spiritual cardiac arrest right now just because we won’t let God be God!

He is ready to LET you reveal wounds, but you keep on letting satan set up stronghold shops in your mind; denying your pain and putting up walls of resistance.

God is ready to LET you release your wrongs, but you keep letting people or yourself hold you back.

God is ready to LET you renew your worth, but you keep letting your words and others speak hate and hurt into you.

Let God’s Word Revive your life.

His word is not antiquated. It is alive and can awaken what's been dead in you. Hebrews 4:12 reads, “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”

Open your Bible now and begin speaking God's words of revival over your life.

Speak Jesus. Speak Jesus over your past, over your problems, over you pain! Speak Him over your life. He can erase the hurt. He can heal your hurt. You can take His Word for it.

Lesson Reflection

1) What words have you been speaking over your hurts? Do you believe it just can’t get any better or do you tell yourself this too shall pass?

2) What has died in your life that has kept you hurting? Are you ready to be revived?

3) Start a list of three areas that need reviving (for example, people pleasing, abuse, or bitterness). Find a scripture to see what God speaks about it. Pray for the removal of those hurts that you’ve been holding on to.

  1. Ladies I just want to say Thank You for this Mini Series of Hurt to Healing. These series of lessons has taught me so much and how to release my hurts. This last lesson has really hit home for me. I just knew this lesson was written just for me. The reason why I say that, is because I was one of those that held on to lot of hurt and pain. I thought I could handle all my problems by myself. I kept saying to myself I didn't need no help. You see at one point in my life, my spiritual life was in cardiac arrest, I've tried all the tricks of the trade to solve my problems. None of the tricks worked for me. But then I started reading and studying the word of God, things began to change for the better. You see I always believed in God, but it was when I started to read and study his word, and praying is when I started seeing my hurts shift in a new a direction. Another thing I learned is God does his works on his time not our time. Another point I want to bring out is I had to learn how to be patient. This lesson brings tears to my eyes because God has been so good to me. I thank God for releasing my hurts.
