POWER OF TEACHING THE CROSS

"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."
(1 Corinthians 1:18)

What is being spoken to me about power?

  1. Preaching and teaching Jesus to those that are living in sin and on their way to destruction sounds silliness to them, because Jesus' way is a grave contradiction to their way of life. However, to me, I've seen the power and beauty of Christ's sacrifice on the cross for me. The doctrine of the cross might be mocked by the world, who have no interest in turning to Christ, but to me, I see its relevance, its power, its redemption! I aim to never tire of hearing of Christ and what He did for me in dying on the cross!

  2. The teaching of the cross may seem silly to those in the way of destruction, which was me at one point in my life. I was baptized and added to the body at a young age, but my conversion came during my adult years; that's when I realized just how powerful the gospel...the cross...Jesus really was. Now that I believe, I see that the power of the cross is the same power that reconciled man's relationship with God!
