POWER TO WALK WORTHY

"That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness."
(Colossians 1:10-11)

How is power described in this passage?

  1. Power is described as might from God that enables me to do works that produce fruit for Him. My walk should be with cheerful endurance and joyfulness, no matter how hard I have to toil.

  2. His power enables us to please God in our walk, our good works so that we are fruitful and increase our knowledge of Him through His spirit operating within us.

  3. The power is in the knowledge and strength to grow in grace. We as believers should endeavor to be filled with knowledge. Good knowledge without a good life will not profit. Verse 11 talks about having strength and patience against anything Satan may place in your way. To be strengthened is to be furnished by the Grace Of God for every good work, and fortified by that Grace against every evil one...

  4. God's power gives me strength to walk worthy of my calling. My walk should also empower others to come to God. The power God furnishes allows me to endure this Christian walk with patience, long suffering, and joy! Power in this passage is also described as dominion!
