POWER OF THE SPIRIT TO FILL YOU

"And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee."
(Luke 1:35)

What is being spoken to me about power?

    1. Candy, we love how you said to be careful with the gift of the Holy ghost. He must not be grieved or taken lightly!

    2. That is so true and we may find ourselves doing things that we think is right and the gift will say u know that's not right. If we listen he will tell us what the next step is.

  2. The Holy Ghost that dwells in me causes a mighty work to be done through me! When I have the spirit it will show because God's brilliance will cover me.

  3. Melanie, I think your comment is so right. When you talked about God's brilliance covering us, my mind immediately thought about how it was only after Mary was willing and yielded her will to God's that she was able to conceive Jesus. During those nine months, the baby bump that was showing revealed to others the "fruit" of her womb. When I yield myself to the power of God's Spirit, others will know because they'll begin to see a baby bump of "righteousness" starting to show. Maybe this month I'll show love, in February-joy, March-peace, April-patience, May-gentleness, June-goodness, July-faith, August-meekness, and September-temperance. After 9 months of letting the power of the Spirit fill me, who knows the new person that I might give birth to? I'm excited at the idea of getting that much further away from my old sinful man and that much closer to knowing who I am as a new creation through Christ!

  4. I'm so thankful that the Holy Spirit has the power to fill me. This power comes from God as an abundance, that of a miraculous force! God has the power to make unnatural things, natural. God can fill me with what He knows I need at that time that will bring Him glory and bring others closer to Him. I think this scripture also speaks a lot about desire...the desire to trust God and be led by the Holy Spirit.
