30 Days of Waiting and Patience

Friday, August 30, 2013

In our fast-paced, microwave, have-it-your-way-right-away society, we like to have things quickly. Think back to a time you were waiting in the grocery store line with a crying child, or on that Customer Service phone call, or waiting for the FedEx package to arrive, or waiting for the interview call back, or waiting for the person of your dreams to show up…hmmm, didn’t you want things to move a little faster? Didn’t you demand results quickly? We’ve been there!

If we’re honest, it sometimes takes a lot more than patience not to lose control, fly off the handle, or take matters into our own hands! However, God has called us to be women who trust Him enough to wait, even after bringing our concerns to Him again and again.

The purpose of this 30-Day Journey of Waiting and Patience (beginning September 1, 2013) is to remind us to slow down before we speak and act and to exercise a heart of trust in waiting on the Lord. These scriptures won’t make the changes for you, but they do serve as a springboard for transforming your spiritual walk with the Lord.

Each day as you read the chosen scripture, keep these questions in mind:

1) What is this passage teaching me?
2) Is there something that I’m dealing with that requires me to be patient?
3) What is making it hard for me to wait on God in this situation?

It doesn’t stop there, because the Spirit laid this 30-Day Journey of Waiting and Patience on our hearts so heavily, we will continue the conversation in an October mini-devotional series entitled, In the Meantime. This devotional series will focus on the importance and blessing of waiting and patience.

Sometimes we just don’t know what to say, or do, or feel when we’re waiting on God to deliver. Other times we just don’t want to wait on God…we have our eyes set, our hearts ready, and our plan in order; so we charge forth without consulting or hearing from Him first.

Through the Spirit, we hope to give you an idea of what it means to be patient, to wait, and what to do In the Meantime, when we’re waiting on God to answer our prayers. Will you join us?

Will you swap this message with other women whom you feel could use some direction on what to do In the Meantime?

Let’s all get ready to grow together in the Lord ☺ as we wait patiently for His direction!

2 Timothy 2:15 ☺
