Testimony Tuesday

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” (Genesis 50:20, NIV)

When was the last time you had a happy thought about hardship? When was the last time you smiled at your struggles?

Rarely do we look back at the troubles of the past and jump for joy. No, we look at those burdens as failures; or as dark holes that we regret falling into; or as hurtful moments in history that we dare not bring up again.

We may tell others, “oh, I don’t want to go there,” or “my past was no fairy tale.”

If you’re reading this right now and not hooked up in that wrong group of people, strung out on that one drug/person, or just completely lost in this world, then God has delivered you!

Deliverance is a happy thought!

Yes, if you’ve gone through something terrible, you don't have to be ashamed, you have a reason to praise! (You’ve gone through)

That’s deliverance. God gave you that specific "been there, done that" story for a reason. Share it with joy, not shame.

What may have seemed like a let down to you was actually a set up for God to do a mighty work in your life.

What may have seemed like a failure and a loss was actually God showing favor and love by removing you from an unfavorable situation.

What looked like the dumbest decision someone could ever make, turned out was the biggest step of faith and deliverance into a new walk of life.

Don’t look back at that horrible past and cringe; reflect back and confess the goodness of God through that storm.

Did He strengthen you? Mold you? Protect you? Teach you? Remind you? Uphold you? Save you?

The word of God says,

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” (Psalm 18:2)

Deliverance is a happy thought, not a dark time. Look at where you are now, how you've grown in the Lord; that should be a testimony in and of itself! Change the way you’ve been thinking about your past and testify joyfully of all the ways God has delivered you in this life.
