"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord."
(Psalm 27:14)

Question Reflection:

Is there something that I’m dealing with that requires me to be patient?

    1. Doris, thank you for swapping with us! We are firm believers in God's truths. There are times when He calls us to wait and be patient, even if we don't want to. What do you see is the main difference between persevere and patient?

    2. For me to perservere is to "hang in there", "keep on keeping on" etc....being patient is "waiting" and for me personally I'm too "nosy" and I want to know what's around "the corner" and honestly I want to be in control which of course I'm not but if I perservere I can have just a "bit" of control of the situation I am in......and seeing this is black and white I can see possibly I am not trusting in the Lord as I profess to do.....I know I am not perfect but at least I'm honest ...

    3. We commend your honesty! In a sense Doris, when you say you want to persevere, you are actually endeavoring to be patient. Patience in it's original meaning even means "to persevere, endure, to be longsuffering." Anytime we want to control our situations in life, we are not giving God the control He deserves and desires. Does that make sense? We may be searching for an answer, which in your case, you may call "being nosy" (or just merely wanting to know something) when God isn't ready to reveal that to us yet. He ultimately knows, better than we do, when we're ready or prepared to receive what's next. That's why He calls us to be patient...which is honestly often tough to do, but thank God for His Spirit and grace which will help us through the waiting seasons.

    4. Yes, yes, yes I am thankful for my Lord. for His Spirit and His son Jesus for the grace (undeserved favor: on my part) that He gives to me everyday. Appreciate you for taking time to respond and helping me to view another perspective of patience and perserverence. Wisdom is a special gift!

  3. I love this scripture because it has taught me a lot about being patient. At one point in my life being patient and learning to wait was my weakest point. I've learned through studying His Holy Word God's timing is not our timing. He's always on time. I may be going through difficulties but I know he's going to work it out for me. Ain't God Good. .
