And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians 3:14-17, ESV)

What are you thankful for?

We know this is the season when we are blanketed with this question at every turn...we take a deep breath and pour out our lists:

I'm thankful for my family, for my friends, for a good job, for health, for life itself, for God, for Jesus...

But are we thankful in everything? Are we thankful for the storms that that try to wash away our faith? Are we thankful for the trials that weigh us down? Are we thankful for unemployment, that lowers our income? That storm gives us experience! Those trials renew our strength! The unemployment grants us more time with family and gives us a testimony of God's limitless provision!

Can you see the thankfulness in all of life or are we just thankful this time of year and not the rest?

Are we thankful "in" everything?

Even if things aren’t going the way we think, or if family is far away from us, or if we can't seem to keep our heads above water this holiday season, let us all find a reason to be thankful...

Always and in All Things!
