For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required.”
(Luke 12:48)

God has chosen us, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have work to complete.

Chosenness is not a ticket to sit idly on our pews and do nothing. Many of us want to be chosen by God, but refuse to choose the work that God requires of His children. It's like winning the lottery, but choosing to refuse to claim your prize.

There is great responsibility that comes with chosenness. We are not saying that we can “work” or “earn” our way into God's favor, but we believe the scripture is true which says, “To whom much is given, much is required.”

Chosenness doesn’t eradicate responsibility.

We have been given much by God and He requires duty from us! We have been given gifts, talents, finances, knowledge, and even time that we are not to keep to ourselves. When we suppress God’s blessings we deny the work that He has placed in us to glorify Him.

We are responsible for using every blessing He’s given us to broaden His kingdom!

What is your much? Is it much ability to work in the church nursery? Is it much courage to teach lost souls? Is it much wealth to provide resources for your community and church family? Is it much wisdom to lead in your workplace? Is it much creativity to produce works of art (whether musical, poetic, artistic, rhythmic) to inspire others? Is it much encouragement to help others identify their worth?

The chosen life is not the frozen life; we have to put in some work! Whatever much you’ve been given, we have the responsibility to hand it back to God as a sweet-smelling sacrifice!
