"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed." (James 5:16)

When it comes to praying to God about healing, many of us are quite skeptical of God’s power. We tend to see ourselves in a spiritually sick place and doubt that healing could ever happen; it isn’t that we don’t want it, but usually when sickness arises, skeptical antennas rise as well.

James 5:16 says for us to pray one for another that ye may be healed. It’s interesting that it doesn’t say pray for yourself, the command is to pray one for another. If any of us is a believer of God and His word, then we can believe that we can be released from spiritual diseases when we pray for others.

Is there anything keeping you from praying for your brother or sister in Christ? What’s stopping you from praying for those who are lost? When we gain the wisdom to pray for someone other than ourselves, God notices just how serious we are about Him answering us.

When we need healing from a broken heart, pray for those who may be experiencing joy in their relationships. Instead of being jealous of their happiness, thank God for His marvelous joy!

When we need healing from bitterness, what’s the harm in praying for someone who is experiencing pleasurable things in life. Instead of envying them, let’s pray God continues to bless them. Let’s thank God for shining His goodness on whomever He will.

When we need healing from the spiritual brutality, manipulation, and emotionally and financially draining church, let’s pray and thank God for the healthy churches. Pray that they remain healthy and that God’s spirit connects us to a family that doesn’t spiritually abuse its members.

We free ourselves from spiritual diseases when we pray for the health of others.

Healing comes to those who release their need to hold on to the symptoms that keep them sick. Healing comes to those who regular visit the Doctor in prayer.

This Freedom Friday we are freeing ourselves of spiritual diseases. We’re cleaning out our filthy temples. We’re ridding ourselves of diseased thinking. We’re freeing ourselves of a sick lifestyle that spreads disease to unknowing bystanders. In order to be free this Friday, let us fervently pray for the freedom of others.

Let us pray…
