In the Loop: Believest Thou Are Loving

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God." (1 John 4:7)

Why should I love when there's so much hate…
I could never love anyone like that…
She’s totally incapable of love…
I will never give my heart to love again…

Are these phrases familiar? Do you find that you struggle with love?

Many times in life because of unfavorable experiences, or how the media portrays certain people, or how we’ve always believed and done things, we have a difficult time actually loving. We speak it, but we forget to show it. We think it, but we don’t believe it. We claim to love others, yet refuse to love ourselves. We wonder, how could something that is of God, be in me? How could I ever love someone who hurt me, or love someone who hurts others? If love is real, why haven’t I found it yet?

It’s not about us at all, but the God in us who allows us to love. God doesn’t just issue out commands. He is compassionate. God isn’t just wise; He’s also warm. God doesn’t just rule, He desires relationship.

We typically try to put our own spin on love and fail when God has already specifically and providentially supplied us with His complete LOVE. It is by the Spirit that the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts (Romans 5:5). It is the Spirit who teaches us how and opens us up to love. In Christ, we have that Spirit which radiates love through us.

For the month of September, we will fall deeper in love with the Word as we embark on a 30-Day journey with the theme Believest Thou Are Loving. We will unwrap scriptures that will rekindle the love that we’re to have for one another and that we’re to express to God. We will also unfold the sacrificial, unbending, saving love of the Lord and develop a more intimate heart of gratitude through some Thankful Thursday messages on Love.

We won’t allow past circumstances keep us from showing love, we won’t tolerate societal stereotypes on how and who to love; we’re being bold and believing; we’re being consistent and compassionate; we’re being loving and living it out for God!

Do you believe? Then invite a friend and join us as we start showing our love and growing together in the Lord! ☺ Stay tuned for our FREE printable calendar to guide you on your journey through the word!
