Breaking Through Non-Prayerful Living (Part 2)

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, ‘With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.’” (Matthew 19:26)

Are you facing an impossible situation today?

… a wayward child that you’ve spent countless nights praying for…
… a marriage that is on the brink of ruin…
… a life-threatening diagnosis with limited resources in sight…
… a mortgage due and you were just laid off…
… being an older, single, Christian woman who desires children, but have no husband...

No matter your situation, we want you to know that God has not abandoned you!

In the face of hard times, God has often come through for you. There may be other times, that you pray and pray and it seems, God is nowhere to be found.

You may feel your life is too sinful, and God cannot hear you…or maybe that you’re not worthy to have what you’ve prayed for…perhaps you’ve thought God couldn’t possibly be powerful enough to grant your request.

It’s easy to think that because our request is impossible for us that it is impossible for God.

In Matthew 19:26, in the face of a situation believed to be impossible for the disciples, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” The word impossible means weak, unable to occur, very difficult to deal with, can’t do, or impotent.

Nothing is impossible for God.

The God of heaven, Creator of the universe, our Father, comforter, and friend is totally ABLE and ALMIGHTY. He has unlimited power, able to do the impossible, including anything He wants, whenever He would want (Psalm 115:3). No good thing does He withhold from them who walk uprightly.

If you’re faced with what seems a purely “impossible situation” for you to handle or fathom, remember you are in the hands of a caring and powerful God who loves you and can execute His purpose in anything, in anyway, in His time!

In spite of your situation pray and praise!

Pray even when your voice shakes, your words are jumbled, your heart is sore, and your tears are flowing. Praise Him in advance when you can’t perceive an avenue out.  Praise Him for being available to receive your prayer. Praise Him for wanting to work out the impossible in your life.

Just because God hasn’t answered your prayers (yet), it doesn’t mean He can’t. It doesn’t mean He won’t. He has not abandoned you!

We can’t express it enough…there is nothing impossible for Him; so don’t give up on Him and don’t give up believing that prayer is important to connecting with Him!

Questions for Reflection:

1) Have you allowed your own “impossibilities” to keep you from praying?
2) Are you willing to relinquish control of your situation into the hands of God?
3) What is holding you back from praying and praising God without ceasing?
