In The Loop: Ministry Renewal Sabbatical

Friday, July 31, 2015

We can't believe it's been nearly 4 years since God planted the seed of this women's ministry into us. We have grown as His children and as ministry leaders. Now, it's time for us to commemorate our launch date with our annual Ministry Renewal Sabbatical! We are intentionally carving out the first 2 weeks of August (August 1 - August 15th) to fortify our spiritual gifts and prowess in the Lord, through a period of encouragement, refreshment, and affirmation. If we can learn anything from Jesus, it is to retreat often to pray (Matthew 14:23, Mark 1:35, Luke 5:16, John 6:15)! Our Savior knew all too well the effects of non-stop ministry.

Each and every day that we are in ministry is another day that the enemy wants to attack our minds, our well-being, and our spirits

Ministry can be difficult; and though the rewards are great, there’s often no true place or time of retreat for those who often spend their time caring for, ministering to, teaching, and praying for others. We are not ashamed to say that we need to be restored and renewed. We can easily become burnt out in ministry, which can lead to anger, conflict, loss, and more; but we want to stay energized, relevant, impactful, and keep growing in the Lord. Though we've had weary days, plain-old tired days, and even some "we really don’t want to but God has called us to this, so we must days," we feel our ministry renewal sabbatical is always a great time to restore our spirits.

Our aim for these 2 weeks will be to rejuvenate ourselves mentally, readjust our focus, reaffirm our faith, and reassess our lessons to make sure they are touching you where you need it the most!

Will you please join us in praying fervently and diligently for: the leading of the Holy Spirit and direction for our ministry (John 16:13), God's purpose to be fulfilled through this ministry (Jeremiah 29:11-12, Philippians 1:6), women who are diligently searching for the Savior (Hebrews 11:6); a renewed delight in the Word (Psalm 1:2, 37:4), spiritual discernment (James 1:5), and the tools, networks, and connect points needed to help further the kingdom of God through S.W.A.P. Ministries!

Though we love our daily interaction with our SWAPs, we will limit our updates to our social media pages for those 2 weeks, but we hope that you will feel free to encourage one another on our pages, as well as, check out our blog archive filled with many encouraging lessons meant to nourish and soothe your souls! We can't wait to reveal a few new updates after our sabbatical!

We will kick off our return, Monday, August 17th with a prayer/encouragement conference call! Also, we look forward to diving into a devotional series on Breaking Through Generational Curses! Have you ever wondered why you're always broke and negative, why things don't seem to ever look up for you, why you can't seem to grow or be joyful? You may be suffering from the effects of a negative, dysfunctional, family cycle. Prepare to free yourself from the victim mentality that comes with being stuck in the habitual cycles of family sin and get ready to cure the curse with Christ!

We’re excited and we’re grateful for the 4 years that you have been with us! We look forward to more opportunities to swap with you in the future!
