Midweek Push

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
(2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

SHUT THE DOOR

We want to thank you for joining us for today’s Midweek Push lesson! We are shutting the door on our Negative Thinking as we continue to Break Through the Victim Mentality this month. The mind is the only thing that the devil can use against us to persuade us to leave God and fall for him. His only mode of defeat is to infiltrate our minds and influence our thoughts.

Today’s post is our first video study on how to break through the Victim Mentality. The devil works hard to attack our thoughts, so we want to make sure that we’re armored up against him by shutting the door on His antics and guarding our minds with the word of God! Our transformed thinking gives birth to complete change; and we want to make a positive change towards God.

Here are a few things we hope that you glean from this video:

• What spiritual victim mentality actually is
• How to recognize negative thoughts in yourself
• Why you should take control of your thoughts
• How to change your negative thinking to positive thinking

We know that the enemy doesn’t want you to see yourself as victorious or as a mighty conqueror. He knows that when you start to see yourself as God sees you, he has lost his control over you. Don’t give him any opportunity to prove that you will choose his way over God’s worthy way!

Please feel free after watching to leave a comment and swap your thoughts on what you pray that God will do in and through you. Also, this is a safe space, so if you have additional questions about how to combat negative, even destructive thinking, you can leave a comment or email us at swapideas2011@gmail.com and we will strive to give you encouragement through God's word and also to point you in the best direction that we know how spiritually!

Thank you again for joining us!

  2. Just wanted to say thank you, I was diagnosed with major depression, anxiety and borderline personality disorder over 20 years ago. Well I have been acting 'normal' and always felt like I've been faking life. I'm a believer but no one specifically addresses mental illness. I have recently decided to seek help again and this series as well as the one addressing mental illness have been on time messages for me. Thank you for allowing God to work through you and help others.

  3. Hi Fran,

First and foremost, thank you so much for connecting with us and being vulnerable. When you speak truth as you have about your situation, the devil gets mad because he doesn't have as tight of a grip on you as he thought he had. So we commend you! Secondly, our God is awesome and He loves you! We know you know that but sometimes it's good to have a reminder of just how much He does love you. NO matter your diagnosis, your circumstance, your yesterday, God loves you!

We are very proud of you for taking responsibility and seeking the professional help you need to aid you as you walk this journey with major depression, anxiety, and personality disorder. 20 years may seem like a long time, but it's not too long for God to still be able to guide you to right professional services. Please don't let the devil convince you to change your mind.

Sometimes our "faking as though we are fine" injures us more, so we are glad that you are no longer willing to fake it, but to faith it with God!

We do appreciate you saying that the lessons have helped you. That encourages us more than you know. You are not alone; these lessons are for us too. The Holy Spirit works on us first before we even write up the messages. We pray that as we continue to seek Him that many like yourself will come to know God more, take responsibility for their actions, and follow Him with their whole heart.

Please keep us updated on your journey because we care that much and want to be involved with prayer and encouragement!

Lord, please bless Fran right now as she is seeking you. Guide her to the right professional help she needs. Lord we ask you to give her strength, peace, and hope as she faces herself in the mirror. God we ask you to shower her with your love, grace, and mercy!

In Jesus name we pray, Amen!
