Mountain Moving Monday: Blame

Monday, September 14, 2015

Then the LORD God called to the man, and said to him, "Where are you?" He said, "I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself." And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?" The man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate." Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" And the woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."”
(Genesis‬ ‭3:11-13,‬ ‭‭‭NASB‬‬)

We want to thank you for joining us as today we continue breaking the negative chains of the victim mentality. We’ve found in our research and study, and even our experience that possessing a victim mentality can lead to a world of problems. Not just personal problems, but those, which involve others.

Take for instance, blame, which comes from the Greek word, Memphomai; it means to find fault, see as fully blameworthy (disgraceful, condemnable), therefore rejected because of deep wrongs by omission or commission. When we lay blame on others, we make them pay for any bad or erroneous choices we may have made versus taking personal responsibility for our actions. We place fault on them, when the fault is actually on us.

In the scripture above, both Adam and Eve cast their blame on someone else versus owning up to the fact that they both partook of the fruit of the tree that God instructed them to avoid.

As you watch our online Bible study below, we ask that you keep in mind that blame is a mountain that we must move if we ever want to be found blameless in the sight of God. In the conclusion of the study, we ask you to meditate on a few scriptures and recite a prayer with us, please find the scriptures and the prayer below. Feel free to repeat it, add to it, and meditate on it this week as you Break Through the Victim Mentality of Blame.

1) Proverbs 28:13
2) James 1:14
3) James 4:7

Prayer Reflection:

Father, whatever it is within me that is causing me to blame others and not take responsibility, I'm asking that you expose it, so that I might break that negative stronghold. Move me Lord, from the victim mentality to victory reality and totality in my life. In Jesus' name, Amen!

Please feel free after watching to leave a comment and swap your thoughts on what you pray that God will do in and through you. Also, this is a safe space, so if you have additional questions, you can leave your question below or email us at swapideas2011@gmail.com and we will strive to give you encouragement through God's word and also to point you in the best direction that we know how spiritually!

Thank you again for joining us!
