31 Days of Walking with the Spirit: Day 23

Saturday, January 23, 2016

"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."
(Galatians 5:16-17, 22-24)

  1. This passage says so much! When will we stop allowing ourselves to be ruled by our fleshly passions and emotions? When we walk (to be occupied with, to follow, to tread all around) in the Spirit, we will not partake of the delicacies that are dangled before us to lead us into destruction. When we're occupied with the things of the Spirit, the lusts of our flesh may arise, but we are more apt not to engage; and as we walk more with the Spirit, He develops His fruit within and through us. Thanks be to God for Christ demolishing and crucifying the works of the flesh on the cross!
