Midweek Push

I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts.” (Hebrews 8:10, NIV)

Music and lyrics have an interesting way of sticking with us. We may find ourselves humming commercial jingles on the way to worship; singing one of the top 10 hits while grocery shopping, or belting out worship songs in the shower. When we finally catch ourselves in mid song, we wonder why that song was stuck in our heads?”

The same can be said when we’re filled with the Spirit. In mid conversation with others a scripture may come to our minds that we prayed about weeks ago. We may wake up and are reminded of how Peter courageously walked on water and we finally begin to see that this is exactly what is needed for us to get through a current storm we’re going through: faith to step out of the boat and walk.

The Hebrew writer penned, “I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts.” We all know that a word deeply ingrained in our hearts is hard to forget and difficult to keep to ourselves. If we want to push through the rest of this week, we must be fueled with the unshakeable word!

It’s not by happenstance that part of the purpose of the Spirit is to guide us into all truth (John 16:13) and reveal to us the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:9-13). When we meditate on and are filled with the inspired word of God, it settles in until the right time for it to uplift another, revive our spirits, or provide the wisdom we’ve been praying for.

What song is the Holy Spirit playing, on repeat, in your ear? What law of the Lord, word of faith, or nudge of deliverance is He imparting, that will make you declare out loud the goodness of the Lord?

It’s the middle of the week, y’all! This is your push! Push through the doubtful whispers of the enemy! Push through the negative energy of the past! Push through the goals you’ve set for yourself this week and burst into song! We'll be happy to join in!
