Freedom Friday: Say Yes to God

Friday, April 29, 2016

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
(2 Corinthians 1:20, NIV)

It’s not that you don’t believe God, because you do.
It’s not that you don’t rest in Him, because you have.
It’s not that you are weak, because you know where your strength lies.

So, why aren’t things turning around for you?

Until we truly say yes to God, by submitting ourselves to His divine will - not our passions and desires - we will find ourselves stuck in the same destructive habits of stinking thinking, immorality, and hopelessness. See, God has not moved, nor has He turned a deaf ear to us; but we are shady sometimes with our love and devotion to Him and still expect Him to accept us. Even though we constantly break God's heart, He still waits for us to choose Him over our circumstances.
You don't have to be perfect to Say Yes to God; you just have to be willing.

The fact that you even have the option to say no to Him shows how merciful He is!

So what does Saying Yes to God look like?

SAYing YES to His state of mind: Isaiah 55:8-9 – We know His ways and thoughts are much higher than ours; meaning He can see the full span of our lives from one view. Once we accept that He knows all, sees what's best, and leads us to eternal joy, our yeses will become more fervent.

SAYing YES to His schedule: 2 Peter 3:8-9 – We know that it won't take God literally 1000 years to answer our prayers and fulfill His promises to us. Once we accept that God holds time in His hands, we can learn to hold on when our issues seem longwinded and unyielding.

SAYing YES to His Son:  - James 4:8 – The closer we get to God, the closer He gets to us. Once we accept that He's already chosen us, we can make every opportunity to say yes to choosing Him.

Today, for Freedom Friday, we're Saying Yes to God so that we can cross over the boundaries of sin, bondage, hurt, rejection, and failure. We're saying yes to His plan, His peace, and His purpose! We're breaking the negative strongholds in our lives and saying yes to freedom in Christ!
