Praying in the Spirit

"...For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ..." (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

To our sister who is defeating the enemy yet has grown weary:

Father,

We thank You for being an all-knowing, all-seeing, all-powerful being! You know our lying down and our rising up. You see the road ahead of us, and You empower us for the journey. You are more than a good God...You are more than able and more than our minds can comprehend. Because of this Lord, we place our faith in You, believing You know how to lead us fully and love us faithfully.

God, right now, in the name of Jesus we declare victory over satan. He cannot have our minds. We cast him out of our thoughts. We refuse to speak his lies, his negativities, and his worries over our lives. We are sick of his demons trying to steal our peace. Help us to fight with spiritual weapons and not our fists or angry words.

In the name of Jesus, we pronounce our wholeness and redemption. The blood of Jesus has cleansed us from all unrighteousness, so we don't have to go back to the pits of shame, condemnation, and guilt. We may have regrets, but we own them and allow them to propel us rather than cage us in pity. We walk with our heads held high.

In the name of Jesus, we are free. The chains over our families are broken. The shackles on our jobs have been loosed. The strain in our daily duties have been severed. The bondage that has grasped our children has been broken. The yokes over our marriages and single struggles have been untied. We pull down all those issues that try to lift themselves higher than the truth of Jesus in our lives.

We are secure in You. We are, where we are, and You can fulfill Your purpose through us, anywhere You desire. You have anchored us...this doesn't mean we can't move; it means we know we're attached to You and nothing can unfasten us from Your grips.

God, we thank You for being righteous; for tearing down the walls over our hearts so that we can learn to love fully and faithfully like You. May our love flow from the Spirit of God, who teaches us how to love. We speak might, worth, and courage in the name of Jesus. We speak with wisdom. We speak with confidence. We give and receive love. We let go of arrogance and we pursue You in faith.

In the holy name of Your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen!
