Praying in the Spirit

Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
(Psalm 61:1-2)

(Verse 1)
Pass me not, o gentle Savior
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou are calling,
Do not pass me by.

Savior, Savior
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou are calling,
Do not pass me by.

(Verse 2)
Let me at Thy throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief,
Kneeling there in deep contrition;
Help my unbelief.

(Verse 3)
Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.

(Verse 4)
Thou the Spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in Heav’n but Thee?

Jesus is, indeed, our Savior and as we walk through this life, we hope that He doesn't pass us by. Not because we're greedy of gain, but because our spirits long for His love. Today, in a brief moment, allow the words to this song comfort you. Our Father will never leave, nor forsake us. He hears our pleas, He revives our joy, He catches our teardrops, He cradles our broken pieces and He puts us together again. Pray, believing that He will.

Trust in the Savior today. Come near to Him...and He will come near to you!

Scriptures to Meditate On:

Matthew 11:28-30 ... our gentle Savior
Luke 24:25-32 ... they constrained him to stay and not leave them
