Thankful Thursday: Revival in Uncertainty

Righteousness exalts a nation…” (Proverbs 14:34)

In T minus 24 hours, and some change, the world will see America swearing in its newest president. Like every presidency before this one, it’s been a time of triumph for some and uncertainty for others. Many times, campaign promises are broken, deliverables are left undelivered, questions are left unanswered, candidates have made it hard for the nation to trust the government, and tireless pleas for revival leaves the masses weary.

Will we ever feel at home in this home of the brave?

Regardless of your political stance and party affiliates, one thing stands true, God’s word. You can be thankful that in the midst of times where you felt alone, when you demanded answers, and lifted a voice that you’re sure wasn’t being heard, the Lord of Heaven has an ear that is attentive to your prayer.

You can trust that “God is close to the brokenhearted…” (Psalm 34:18)
You can trust that “God will never leave nor forsake you…” (Hebrews 13:5)
You can trust that “God will keep His promises…” (Deuteronomy 7:9)

If you’re seeking revival today, it means you want to release what’s been ailing you and find yourself rested, restored, and relieved in the presence of God. Revival won't come in the form of a national leader; nor can it be found in the world at large. It is God who heals, cures, and restores. It is Jehovah, in whom we are freed and delivered. It is in God. We. Trust.

If we can engrave it on our currency, we can allow God to inscribe it on our hearts.
(Psalm 40:8, Proverbs 7:3, 2 Corinthians 3:2-3)

You don’t have to wait for uncertainty to trust and you don’t have to wait for triumph to feel revived. God is ever present.

Turn away from your uncertainty and seek a home in His heart.
